| Technology: |
Siemens PCS7 box, Temperature, Humidity sensors, particle counters |
| Site: |
CSL manufactures influenza vaccines for sale on the worldwide market. The new Flu Enhancement Facility will enable new vaccines to be researched and developed. It is critical that the conditions inside this facility are well monitored. |
| Works Included: |
Consultancy with the client as to their requirements for monitoring of new facility.
Development of Siemens PCS7 software and hardware configuration to meet the user’s requirements.
System testing and validation. |
Project Outline:
The design brief was to provide a robust monitoring system that would operate 24/7 and complement the current Automation network on site.
The monitoring system was developed for operation on a Siemens PCS7 box PLC, with a single server and additional client. Points monitored are 16 pressure signals, 11 differential pressures, 21 temperatures, 7 humidity sensors and 2 particle counters. Outputs drive local indicator lights and buzzers in the various rooms to indicate out of tolerance conditions. All monitored data is transferred to the on-site historian for archiving, plant paging system and integration into the site archive and backup system.
