The Solution

The Technology

Solar battery arrays typically have limited technology and a low level of sophistication in their configuration and operation. The solar panels absorb whatever energy happens to be available at that time and directs it to the batteries. The stored energy is then utilised on-demand from the equipment without forward planning or consideration of the battery recharging profile or ongoing power requirements. As a result, batteries can be drained too quickly or discharge completely, with significant potential for battery damage and equipment downtime.

Powerhouse takes the guesswork out of solar power management. With sophisticated AI, smart algorithms, predictive analytics, and real-time meteorological data, the system:

Together with Santos, Synertec is committed to developing innovative strategies to improve the sustainability, reliability, and viability of Australia’s energy production processes. Key technical objectives of the project include robust reliability, optimisation of field practicalities, safety, system availability, battery performance, remote control, support for high power loads, footprint size, transportability, and recyclability.

This world-leading technology is the first-of-its-kind to be developed in Australia. It has an anticipated commercial life of at least 10 years per unit, and a useful equipment life of 15 years, with great potential for redeployment to developing countries upon completion of commercial applications. The product is being designed from the ground up with simplicity, efficiency, and scalability front-of-mind to suit the demanding requirements of remote environments.
