Our Recruitment Process:

Firstly, before we get into the Recruitment Process, it’s worth noting that we are incredibly selective on who we bring in to our team. Maintaining our culture of values, collaboration and learning is absolutely paramount to our ongoing success as a business.

Our Recruitment Process is what kicks off our Employee Experience at Synertec, from submitting your job application or being engaged by one of our team members.

With the increased use of AI in the recruitment industry, Synertec has maintained a people orientated approach, ensuring that every application is reviewed by a skilled professional and vetted against our key selection criteria for each position.

Once individuals are assessed against our key selection criteria, we follow a streamlined interview process where we are able to move from initial phone screening, face to face interviews and final interviews with minimal delays.

This approach is driven by our senior leaders of the business and by our Hiring Manager’s awareness of what it takes to engage top talent.

From here our automated processes help to push the process into the final stages of reference and background checks as well as contract management. Our modern HRIS system and practices ensures all boxes are checked for compliance and peace of mind whilst not disrupting our momentum!

Once all parties are happy and start dates are organised, our newly recruited team members will get started on the onboarding process where they will move through Synertec’s bespoke Induction process that will have them spending time with a range of our Operational Readiness groups as well as integrating them into their individual teams.

What working within Synertec looks like:

Meet Jason, Synertec’s General Manager of Technology. Jason has “always been captivated by how things work and the amazing technology we humans have built.” He started his career in Perth as a control systems engineering graduate and loved the challenge of solving complex problems and the opportunity to work at the intersection of people and technology. Early in his career, Jason travelled around Australia, working on diverse interesting engineering projects across key industries, including Energy, Water, Mining, and Transport. This journey exposed Jason to various technical challenges, teamwork, and management & leadership roles, teaching him that successful project delivery and problem-solving require a balanced blend of these aspects.

Jason joined Synertec in 2016 as a Principal Automation Engineer and has since held various roles, including Automation Manager and Head of Engineering. Jason shares, “I’ve truly enjoyed witnessing and contributing to the business’s growth over the years, and I’m proud of the talented team we’ve built.”

Recently Jason took on the role of General Manager if technology, primarily focusing on Synertec’s powerhouse technology. Jason is “excited to work at the forefront of technology and assist our clients with the energy transition, moving towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.”

Meet Josh, one of our Automation Engineers here at Synertec. Josh initially studied Aerospace engineering, but soon found that it wasn’t the direction he wanted to head in. After taking a year off for travel, Josh picked up Electrical Engineering where he found a space to feed his curiosity. He took interest in sustainable energy, electronics, automation, and coding.

After graduating, Josh joined our team here at Synertec as a project engineer on a rail project, an automation engineer developing a DC microgrid controller, a test engineer on some of Synertec’s other rail projects, and more recently he has been working on a Technology project. Josh shares, “for the past year and a half, it has been amazing to work with and learn from so many great minds that are always willing to extend a helping hand and push me to be my best.”
