What working within Synertec’s AEIS Group looks like:

Meet Max, one of Synertec’s young, dynamic Automation Engineers. Max joined the engineering team earlier this year after spending the last five years developing his diverse skillset in control system engineering, electrical design, and project management. His previous experience spans various industries, including food and beverage, waste, pharmaceutical, and machine safety.

Max’s journey to Synertec was driven by his desire to be part of challenging large-scale projects involving software development, design, and commissioning. He is looking forward to the opportunities to apply his skills and knowledge to critical infrastructure projects in the Energy and Water industries and is excited to see where his role will take him.

Since starting in January, Max has already played a key role in some interesting projects. One of his significant contributions was during his secondment role at Melbourne Water. His responsibilities included SCADA database reviews, which involved PLC troubleshooting implementation. His work also extended to SCADA schematic designs based on P&IDs, highlighting his comprehensive understanding of electrical schematics and design for HV/LV.

Following this work at Melbourne Water, Max was deployed to APA’s SS6 site for a pre-commissioning role at a Gas Compressor Station. Max was quick to jump at the opportunity to head to (very) outback Queensland where he was involved in conducting Inputs/Outputs (IO) Testing & Loop Checks and providing software and electrical support to a 3rd party package provider.

Max shares, “I love working in critical infrastructure and the opportunity to work autonomously within critical infrastructure industries. It’s been really rewarding to work in such a high performing team.” Max is also accessing the learning  and development resources available with Rockwell Automation, Siemens, LinkedIn Learning, and internal training sessions from Senior Experts. Max feels that “the support and training from senior Synertec staff is great, and the opportunities I’ve been a part of in such a short period of time have been great for my career progression.”

Max’s adaptability, technical expertise, and drive make him a valuable asset to his AEIS Group. With his positive attitude and technical skills, Max is poised to make significant contributions to Synertec, our clients and the field of Automation Engineering.
